The Making of the Illustrations
Our illustrations are inspired by the spirit of Finland’s Golden Age of Art and mythology. The visual world draws from artists like Akseli Gallen-Kallela, the epic stories of Kalevala, and the refined aesthetics of Japanese woodblock prints.
The color images were crafted using a combination of Midjourney generative AI, Photoshop’s creative tools, and hand-drawn illustrations. Each illustration is the result of a creative dialogue between the artist and technology, guided by human imagination and storytelling.
Our aim is to bring Finnish folklore and nature’s wisdom into modern life: to make the ancient visible, beautiful, and accessible.
