A STORYTELLER, COACH AND MEDIA EXECUTIVE

With over 25 years of experience in the media industry, Reetta Ranta is a storyteller, coach, and media executive from Finland whose calling is to act as a bridge between ancient wisdom and the modern world. She has worked with several media organizations, such as Rabbit Films, Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle, and Gutsy Animations, in various leadership roles. Currently she leads Power Animals United, a family business that produces innovative and inspiring content that combines nature wisdom, mythology, science and storytelling. The company’s flagship TV series, Back to Nature, has been sold to several countries in Europe, Asia and North America. Reetta is also acting as the Executive Director of Women in Film and TV WIFT Finland.

As a values-driven creator, coach and inspiring speaker, Reetta’s calling is to bridge ancient wisdom with the modern world, guiding her clients on their paths toward more meaningful lives.

Last summer she launched with her sister Riikka Nordic Forest Rituals Oracle Deck: 49 beautiful cards and an eBook with inspiring messages from Nordic nature and mythology, and ideas for modern daily rituals. The Nordic Forest Rituals Oracle Cards draw inspiration from the mythical landscapes of the Nordic forest—its trees, plants, spirits, animals, and the stories that emerge from deep within our folklore. The cards bring Nordic nature and timeless rituals to life in a playful and beautiful way.

Reetta’s latest book, “Timeless Nordic Rituals: Bringing Purpose and Joy to Modern Life” (SKS Kirjat), was published in Finnish in the fall 2023 and will be published in German in Summer 2025. The book invites us to take inspiration from long-forgotten and living traditions of the Finno-Ugric people, and to create rituals that strengthen our connection with nature, the cycle of life, and with our inner selves. Reetta’s next book about sacred trees, “Pyhät puut“, will be published in Spring 2025 (SKS Kirjat).

Reetta is known for the TV series “Metsien kätkemä” (“Back to Nature Finland”), which combines nature adventure, mythology, and captivating storytelling. Based on the series, Reetta has developed the international TV format “Back to Nature,” which has been sold to several European and Asian countries and now to the United States as well. Previously, Reetta has been involved in taking other Finnish content brands global, such as Habbo, the Dudesons, and the new Moominvalley animated series.

Reetta is a mother of three boys and resides with her husband and family in an over 100-year-old house in the Fiskars village, where she draws inspiration for her work from the beautiful nature and finds balance for work. Her yard is also home to a dog, two cats, many deer, and about 70,000 bees.
